Ouran is quirky, fun, and full of insanity. I’m a little picky here when it comes to art quality and all, but the variety of pairings (which are hinted at in the anime at least mildly), it isn’t hard to find more than enough pretty books to catch my eye.
Hitachiin, MorixHoney, and KyouyaxTamaki are my preferred books, with gag and general stories welcome, but TamakixHaruhi not so much... I would -love- to find out if there was a KasonodaxTetsuyah book out there somewhere, because it would be at the very forefront of my collection.
Overall though- MorixHoney. Definately.

Name: Merit Demerit Circle/Artist: Aruno (So Bad) Rating: Yaoi Page Count: 38 Type: Yaoi Book Pairing: Kyouya-x-Tamaki, Mori-x-Honey, Hitachiin-x-Tamaki Remarks: ...This book is actually one story, and two mini-...things. I have mixed opinions on So Bad– At times, the art is amazing, but there are moments when it just doesn’t look -right- to me. The chins bother me -a lot-, and Tamaki and Kyouya are -way- too skinny to give any sense of realism. Skeleton Love bothers me. The Kyouya-x-Tamaki is cute, having Kyouya frustrated over Tamaki’s silliness, and then struggling against the jealousy that begins to progress from having his paramour always flirting with the girls. The second story is...just confusing, Random Dojo sex always is, but apparently if Mori wins, he -really- wins.. You do however, get to see a cameo from Satoshi and Yasuchika, which is endlessly awesome. The last story is just the twins torturing Tamaki, forgetting about him for each other, and then the Prince type sobbing to mother about it. ...Haruhi makes a random cameo in this one, which I totally don’t understand.

Name: Sweet Sweets Food Circle/Artist: Karasu-dou AKA Karasu Rating: R18 Page Count: 22 Type: Yaoi Pairing: Mori-x-Honey Remarks: This book is... interesting. XD You have a very good look into a very nasty part of Honey’s persona. He comes off as a spoiled little brat, and you’ve got to pity the fact that Mori has to put up with him all the time. The art from Karasu is something I love, as the eyes, and expressions are just so... ...expressive? There’s a lot of ‘pen-shading’ which is delightful, as opposed to the usual toning. I guess I just love the sketchy feel. The cover however, certainly gives you the wrong impression as to the contents.

Name: The Flower Blooms Circle/Artist: Karasu-dou/aka Karasu Rating: - Page Count: 28 Type: Shounen-Ai, General. Pairing: Mori-x-Honey, Hints of Kyouya-x-Tamaki Remarks: This is my favorite Host Club book... It’s simply adorable. By Karasu, the art is a real treat to look at, and even without reading Japanese, the story is conveyed beautifully. I really like having a sweet book like this, when in comparison to Sweet Sweets– The story revolves around Kyouya having secret cameras put up, and Honey expressing his feelings over the pictures which have been taken of himself and Mori without their knowledge. The last few pages, are spectacular, with a really cute scene of Kyouya realizing that perhaps he isn’t as much of a shadow king as he imagined. Sneaky Honey ftw. XD
